After CNN and Canadian News Wire covered the eBay.ca auction of the world's oldest hockey stick, there was tremendous interest in using the stick as a promotional tool for major corporations. After discussions with corporate executives at Canadian Tire, Labatt Breweries, Nike and the NHL Alumni, it became apparent that the stick could also be used to raise millions of dollars for charitable purposes.

That's when the idea behind the Canadian Fanscharity.com was born.
